2019 Armenise Harvard Summer Fellowship

ew-summer-fellowship-2019-lowOn July 1, 12 new Armenise Harvard Summer Fellows began their eight-week course in Boston. The program, in its tenth year, has been a remarkably successful initiative. It offers Italian university and medical students the change to experience the world of basic science research in Harvard and Harvard-affiliated labs for eight weeks in the summer. In addition, Dr. Cinzia Vicidomini, our Program Director, organizes weekly seminars that bring in guest speakers – Italians who are working in the Boston area. Together, they explore such topics as getting a PhD abroad and establishing a career in science, both in Italy and in other countries.

Another feature of this program is that it has attracted interest from several Italian universities and institutes. The Foundation partners with these organizations, who provide funds for their students. The stipend is 2700 Euros, which is used to help defray travel and living expenses.
