2017 Armenise Harvard Foundation Summer Fellowships have been selected

On July 1, the 14 new Armenise Harvard Foundation Summer Fellows will begin their eight-week course in Boston.  The program, in its eighth year, attracted the largest number of applications it ever has and we will also enroll the largest class.  The program offers Italian university and medical students the chance to experience the world of basic science research in Harvard and Harvard-affiliated labs for eight weeks in the summer.  In addition, our Program Director, Dr. Annarita Patrizi, provides them with a weekly seminar that brings in guest speakers – Italians who are working in the Boston area.  Together, they explore such topics as getting a PhD abroad and establishing a career in science, both in Italy and abroad.

Another appealing feature of this program is that it has attracted interest from several Italian universities and institutes.  The Foundation partners with these organizations, who provide funds for their students.  The stipend is €2,700, which is used to help defray travel and living expenses.
